Ann Sophie Brehm

Lecturer for Violin

Ann Sophie Brehm (born 1994) started her violin lessons with Susanne Sigg at the age of six. In 2008, she began her studies as a young student in Prof. Kamilla Schatz’s class in Winterthur, continuing from 2013 onward at the Trossingen University of Music with Prof. Christian Ostertag. There, she started her bachelor studies after graduating from high school in 2014 and changed to the Freiburg University of Music after two years, where she’s now in the class of Prof. Sebastian Hamann. During her musical education, she was able to collect many prizes, amongst others one in the solo violin category.

She worked for the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra Saarbrücken in Kaiserslautern, is a substitute for the state theatre Saarbrücken and is a member of the Young German Philharmonic Orchestra. She loves playing chamber music and regularly gives concerts with her piano trio.

Ann Sophie received the Deutschlandstipendium in 2015 and a scholarship from the Dominik-Pfahlberg Foundation in 2019. Additionally, she received a scholarship for the Summer Academy in Radolfszell in 2016 and for the Academy Allegra in Ruse in 2018.

Silja Peedo

Lecturer for violin

born June 17, 1989 in Põltsamaa, Estonia, started to study violin at the age of six. She started the basic studies with Tiina Luhamets in 1999 at H. Eller Music School and continued the secondary music education in the same school with Andres Leivategija.
She participated in the German-Scandinavian Music Week for the first time in 2005.
Performed as a soloist with Eller Symphony orchestra on the 2009. She graduated the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in professor Tõnu Reimann’s class in 2013 and continued to do the Masters in violin pedagogy.
Academyc year 2015/2016 she studyed in Italy at the Conservatory of Verona with Maestro Alberto Ambrosini. Autumn 2016 continnued studying in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with dots. Arvo Leibur.

She worked as a violin teacher at Viimsi Music School in 2013 – 2017. Silja is a member of the youth orchestra Reaalmažoor and the chamber music ensemble Yheksa. She has also played in the Symphony Orchestra of the Vanemuine Theatre in Tartu, the Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Järvi Academy.
As a violinist she participated in Jarek Kasar's opera "Katuselt", performed at the theatre NO99. In spring 2013 she joined the cast at the NUKU theatre bringing on stage the musical "Shrek".

She has taken part in masterclasses with Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Mari Tampere, Leonardo Cella, Ilya Grubert and Ulrike Danhofer.

Claudia Zimmermann

Lecturer for viola

Claudia Zimmermann, born in Saarbrücken, began her musical career initially on the violin, then switched to viola at the age of 14 years. Since 2013, she studies at the Saar University of Music with Professor Jone Kaliunaite.  Via Erasmus program, she studied from 2015-2016 at the Trinity Laban Conservatory for Music and Dance in London with Richard Crabtree. Orchestral experience she got in several youth and student orchestras (such as the Landesjugendorchester Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie), as assistant in the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt Oder and as an intern in the Symphony Orchestra Aachen.
She attended masterclasses with Roland Glassl. After finishing her bachelor studies in Saarbrücken, Claudia Zimmermann starts studying for her master's degree at the University of Music Karlsruhe in October 2019.

Florian Bischof

Lecturer for violoncello

Florian Bischof (born in 1982) grew up in a rural province of lower saxony. This was where he first learned the Guitar and the electric Bass before he discovered his love for classical music and started to have cello lessons with Ilka Wagener.

When studying abroad in Auckland, New Zealand, he was given many musical impressions. By the end of the final year at Birkenhead College Florian received the award "best in music".

In 2003, he began to study musicology at the University of Music "Franz Liszt" Weimar. In addition to his studies, he had cello lessons with Christina Meißner and several other teachers. In 2007, he also began a deep study in cello performance with Christoph Spehr at the same university in Weimar (Graduation 2012).

During his studying years, Florian performed with several professional Orchestras on a regular basis. Most importantly to mention the Staatskapelle Weimar, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lubeck. An Orchestral Academist Position in the Orchestra of the Nuremberg state Theater led him to Bavaria, which now is still his home base. In 2015, he achieved a permanent position in the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, which he is holding since.

Florian attended courses and masterclasses with Jens-Peter Maintz, Michael Sanderling, Peter Bruns and Maria Kliegel. As a soloist highlight, he played the rarely performed cello concerto by Finnish composer Joonas Kokkonen with the STÜBA-philharmonie Thüringen.

Jella Großmann

Lecturer for contrabass

Jella Großmann, born in Berlin in 1989, took up classical piano lessons at the age of five, followed by drum set and double bass. She discovered her love for classical music at the German-Scandinavian Music Week.

She grew up in Freienwill, close to Flensburg and finished her studies of double bass at the University of Music Lübeck (Bachelor of Music) and at Berlin University of the Arts (Master of Music). Since the start of her studies, she has taught double bass. In the 2011/2012 season, Jella interned at the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lübeck. Since 2016, she has been at Hamburg Conservatory as a teacher of double bass, acting also as section leader in the Audience Orchestra of Hamburg Elbphilharmonie.

Jella is part of Ticos Orchester (Pop), Ambun Suri (contemporary chamber music), Bassmate (Pop/Jazz) and Uuga (free improvisation). 

Jella Großmann

Anrijs Ivanovskis

Lecturer for woodwind

Anrijs Ivanovskis is Latvian bassoon player, born in Riga 1979. He graduated Malmö Academy of Music in 2009 and Royal

Danish Academy of Music in 2015 with soloist diploma.

Anrijs Ivanovskis started his professional career in 1998 with

Liepaja Symphony orchestra. Since 2007 Anrijs lives in Sweden and works as a freelance soloist and contract musician. He has worked in almost all professional symphony orchestras around Denmark and Sweden

In 2009 Anrijs took a part in first world’s interactive orchestra project “ You Tube Symphony orchestra” in Carnegie hall New York. From year 2016 Anrijs Ivanovskis is guest musician in Symphony orchestra of India.

He is a teacher in well known internet Academy of music Play with a Pro.

Anrijs is active soloist and chamber musician.He has played together with many famous chamber orchestras and ensembles like “Kremerata Baltica”, “3WINDS”, ”Postmodern winds” and “Duo Anime”.

As well as performing as a soloist and chamber musician with different orchestras and chamber orchestras and groups around the world, Anrijs also has a big interest in contemporary music and has a very good cooperation with different composers over the world who dedicate their compositions to Anrijs. He has very tight cooperation with Icelandic composer G. Karel Másson and performed several of his pieces.

Alex Tim Nielsen

Lecturer for brass

Alex born 1985, started to play the Eb-horn in Roskilde Garden in 1996. Then converted to euphonium, before he started playing the trombone.

From 2005-2007 he studied trombone at MGK køge (pre academic studies) at Christian Schmediescamp.

He was accepted into the Danish Royal Academy of Music in 2007, where he studied at Torbjörn Kroon from 2007-2012.

During his studies he has played with numerous Brass Bands, Big Bands, wind bands and symphony orchestras. Among these are Lyngby-Taarbæk Brass Band, Dusika, Rødovre Concert Band, Lyngby-Taarbæk Symphony orchestra, Lyngby-Taarbæk wind band.

In later years he also played with the Royal Danish Theatre, Slesviske Musikkorps, Prinsens Musikkorps, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Danish Radio Chamber Orchestra.

During his studies he also attended masterclasses and lessons with Raymond Munnecom, Jesper Juul, Kasper Thaarup, Mogens Andresen, Rolf Sandmark, Kristjan Berger, Kristian Steenstrup, Peter Schmidt and Carsten Svanberg.

Pauls Andersons

Lecturer for percussion

Was born in 1974 in Liepaja/Latvia. After training in singing and piano at the music school of his home town, he discovered his love for percussion due to his teacher Asmis Edvins. At first he specialized in Jazz with the drumset. During his studies with Hermann Schwander at the Meistersinger Conservatory in Nürnberg he also received timpani lessons from the solo timpani player of the opera in Kiel as well as the solo timpani player of the Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra, Reiner Seegers.

In 1996 Pauls Andersons began additional studies in timpani and percussion at the Conservatory in Amsterdam with Nick Woud, the solo timpani player of the Radio Symphonic Orchestra of Holland and with Jan Pustjens, the solo percussionist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Pauls Andersons talent has been recognized many times. In November 1995 he received the grant of the Erna-Köhler-Foundation for oustanding achievements during his studies, in March 1996 and April 1997 the first place of the competition of the "Nürnberger Nachrichten". In July 1997 he was chosen for the Schleswig-Holstein-Music-Festival as percussionist. In December 1997 he received the the first place at the competition of the "Handelskammer" and at the same time the grant of the "Nürnberger Förderverein".

In August 1998 he participated at the World Marimba Competition in New York and received a grant for percussion Doctor grad. with Prof. G. Stout.

Pauls Andersons has been lecturer for percussion at the DSM since 1999.
